This Year's Event Overview
For the 64th year, Pancake Days will be open for all-you-can-eat pancakes. In addition to the pancakes, is sausage, milk, juice and coffee. This year the event will be held in the East Hills Mall Food Court starting at 7 am each morning. On March 24th & 25th, serving ends at 7 pm and on Sunday, the 26th, serving ends at 2 pm. Our recommendations for best entrances to reach the pancake area are: the entrance between JC Penny and Party City to the east and the entrance between JC Penny and Off Broadway Shoes to the west. See the map at the bottom of this page where we have marked these entrances and our position in the food court.
The profits from the pancakes are used to benefit several Lions supported projects in St Joseph.
Hope to see you there!
Pancake Memories
In recent years, the annual Pancake Days was held at the National Guard Armory with the three St Joseph clubs - South Side, East Side and Host - working together to serve 5,000 pancake meals. A friendly pancake eating competition pitted Benton, Central, Lafayette and LeBlond against one another with the winner's name added to a plaque. Several raffle items were available for anyone to participate such as televisions, game systems, bicycles and even a car, one year. At times the lines wound out of the door, but the wait was short when each of the usual 3 griddles accommodated 21 pancakes (with a total of 6 massive griddles available to crank up). Lions from each club did the cooking and enjoyed making Mickey Mouse pancakes for the young ones who came out. Scout troups helped by cleaning off the tables and readying them for more diners.
